Shooting in the Boneyard

My youngest son and I are hooked on photographing graveyards. Especially on dreary overcast days. He hasn't got up the nerve to go at night!

I'm not sure what my fascination with them is. I've always been interested in mortuary science as well. Anyone know of an embalming room I could shoot? :)

This one is a little creepy. It's so old, I guess it just busted open. I tried to get Hunter to crawl down in there and let me get a shot. He flat out refused. What's wrong with these wimpy kids these days??

What are your big plans for Halloween? We usually have a bon fire and give out candy. Ryan is working the local haunted house. Maybe some chili and some good scary movies!

Worms Eye View

Chasing Picture Perfection

This will be my first submission at Chasing Picture Perfection. The assignment is taking a photo from a worms eye view.
My son took this picture from underneath a billboard. Many times he will ask me to pull over to get a shot of something that catches his eye.

My Son the Handyman

Today I have to brag on my oldest son. He is very handy around the house. He is self taught and does great work.
He married his childhood sweetheart. Here's the happy couple, this was shot while they were attending (and participating in) a friends wedding. We just love them so much and so proud of the adults they've become.

When they bought their house there was no hearth on the fireplace. Blake built it up and tiled it. It's so pretty now! Brandi, my daughter in law, is a great decorator too!

Looks professionally done!

Now on to his room. And to his credit I never once heard him refer to it as a "man cave." He has this nook, I guess it would be considered a closet. It houses all his music and "beverage' stuff.

This is a gun cabinet that started out as a regular green cabinet. The camo on the side is stuck on, it's a tape type thingy. He did the painting effect using pine straw. How cool is that?

Notice the bullet necklace? My dad makes these for my boys. Ha!

Ok, one of the coolest parts of his room. He made a coffee and end tables out of old wood. These tables are so neat. I don't know where he comes up with these ideas! I told him he was the male version of Martha Stewart!

These are pictures of my dad. He loves his grandad!

Notice the wood he put on the wall. This really sets the room off and gives it that cabin feel.

And here is a shot of the ceiling. He painted a rebel flag up there! Just thinking about how much time this took, makes my neck hurt!

I hope you enjoyed this little tour. Thanks for letting me brag!

Apple House Visit

I finally feel like I'm returning to the land of the living. It's been a long week. Thanks for all the well wishes!

We went to Talking Rock yesterday to my aunts house. It was a girls lunch with my mom, her four sisters and my cousin. We had such a good time. We visited the Panorama apple house. They have so much to offer there. I picked up some apple salsa. I may use it with a pork roast. Yum! Maybe a recipe to come!
We bought some Mutsu apples. I had not heard of these kind before. They are a cross between a Golden Delicious and an Indo apple. So good!

How do you like my first attempt at a collage? Sad huh? I used Picasa, it's not the best! I had so many other pictures I wanted to add to it but for some reason it kept deleting those. Any suggestions for collage software?

Hopefully I can get caught up on my reading list. Can't wait to see what everyone has been up to!

Death Warmed Over

I feel as bad as this picture looks!

I hope I'm better soon. I miss blogging! I can't even keep up with my daily reads! :(
